| Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts to Provide Activities for Students at Lopez and Metropolitan Ministries Partnership Elementary Schools and Everyday Blessings Inc. (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| The David A. Straz, Jr. Center will offer a wide array of performing arts fieldtrips in which students will experience performances in theatre, dance, music, media, visual arts, and poetry.
Research indicates that students of the arts excel on college entrance exams. |

| STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES | |
| • Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Motivate students to become responsible learners | |
| FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes) | |
| This contract will be paid using Title I, Part D funds in the amount of $15,000. | |
| EVALUATION | |
| Straz Center will administer a pre- and posttest to participating students to determine if documented objectives of the program were achieved. Progress reports will be shared with district staff, the program supervisor, and/or her designee will regularly meet with provider to discuss progress on behalf of the district, during performance period. At the conclusion of the program, a final report will be shared with district staff. Data will be analyzed to determine the success of the program and future contracts with the vendor. | |
