| Approve the Rental of Event Rooms and Catering Services from the Sheraton Tampa East Hotel to Facilitate Training of School-Based Administrators and Teachers in the Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teachers and Teaching (ECET2) Initiative (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| The ECET2 initiative provides Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) the opportunity to host local ECET2 events for our schools focusing on shared leadership at the school level. Teams of school administrators and teachers will participate in training breakout sessions on topics such as Building Morale, The Multiplier Effect, Powerful Professional Learning Communities, and Learning in the 21st Century. The events are planned by teachers for teachers. Teacher leaders and principal coaches will share personal stories during the sessions. The training for these educators is scheduled for March 27, 2015, at the Sheraton Tampa East Hotel.
HCPS Board Policy and the Florida Department of Education 6A-1.1012(7) Purchasing Policies require Board approval for contractual services exceeding $50,000. Districts may not divide the procurement of commodities or contractual services to avoid this monetary threshold requirement. Future contracts for these events will exceed this requirement; therefore, we request approval for additional expenditures for the March 2015 event. |
