Approve the Piggyback Between Sunbelt Transport Refrigeration Ltd. and the School Board of Polk County, Invitation to Bid (ITB) #026-PSC-1114 Auto, Truck, and Bus Repair Parts and Service and Linen Service (Business Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
If approved, the Transportation Department will be utilizing Sunbelt Transport Refrigeration Ltd., via the Polk County Schools contract, as a secondary supplier to purchase air conditioning parts and labor for repair of school buses.  Our primary supplier, Florida Transportation Systems, Inc., was approved by the Board on January 21, 2014.

The initial term of the Polk County Schools contract is from January 1, 2014, through December 31, 2014, and has been renewed through December 31, 2015.  Hillsborough County Public Schools will commence its use effective February 18, 2015.

In accordance with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), Purchasing Policy 6A-1.012(6), in lieu of requesting competitive solicitations from three or more sources, district school boards may make purchases at or below the specified prices from contracts awarded by other city or county governmental agencies, or other district school boards.  This contract may be renewed by the Superintendent, per the terms of the specifications.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Year-to-date expenditures for 2014/2015 are $60,118 and $82,663 for 2013/2014.
