Approve Award of Contract for Roof Replacement at Two Sites (Bryan, Jackson)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provides for replacement of a portion of the roofs at Bryan and Jackson Elementary Schools.  District staff combined the requirements into a single project and selected Roof Engineering Associates, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services.  The scope of work includes removal and replacement of selected roof areas at the two schools.

The project was advertised and bids received (see attached bid tabulation).  Award of the contract for construction to the qualified bidder, Southern Roofing Company, Inc., is recommended.

• Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)

Total funds in the amount of $853,000 are included for the project in the District Capital Outlay:  Local Millage.   The contract amount being awarded is $852,860.
