EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
If approved, Advanced MarketPlace will provide the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) services specified in the attached statement of work. The primary functionality of managed DLP services is to identify and protect confidential data kept on computers and data storage devices within the district. Symantec™ is the current toolset utilized by the district for virus protection and works well in highly distributed environments and can scale up to hundreds of thousands of computers. The Symantec™ DLP product is a comprehensive data security solution that discovers, monitors, protects, and manages confidential data wherever it is stored or used.
This agreement for DLP services will utilize the Symantec™ DLP product. The Advanced MarketPlace Symantec™ DLP resident contractor will handle the initial setup of Symantec™ DLP solution on network and devices referred to as “endpoints,” and use the product to perform discovery over the network and endpoints to mitigate risks associated with any confidential data found. This engagement will help the district protect information against loss and theft, comply with global data privacy laws, and help safeguard the district's reputation by ensuring and enforcing data security. |
