Approve Renewal Contract for Full Service Funding with the State of Florida, Department of Health, and the School Board of Hillsborough County, FL (Student Services Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
This contract renewal is in effect July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016. Its purpose is to expand school-based health services and increase access to health care in high-poverty areas. The Full Service School funds provide direct health services to schools in our district. This is an annual renewal of flow-through funds from the Hillsborough County Health Department to the school district and has been in effect for over 20 years.
It is the practice of the State of Florida, Department of Health to sign any negotiated contract after School Board approval. |

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes) | |
Funds in the amount of $422,772 are provided by the legislature from general revenue and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) federal dollars in specific line items for Full Service Schools. | |
EVALUATION | |
Annual reports are submitted to the State of Florida, Department of Health. These reports contain data regarding student, parent, and school health staff encounters including services by nurse practitioners and a physician. | |
