EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of this Memorandum of Understanding, through Learey Technical College, for the Tampa Fire Rescue Partnership Academy. The purpose of this partnership is to provide an applicant pool of newly trained firefighters to the local workforce.

The targeted student population for this special program is economically disadvantaged, minorities, and women. Through this partnership, the City of Tampa will provide the training facility, equipment, and site consumables.  CareerSource of Tampa Bay will provide tuition, fees, textbooks, tools, uniforms, and supplies for the students, as well as assistance with child care and transportation.  Learey Technical College will provide the instructors and coordination of the partnership.

This Memorandum of Understanding was submitted for approval by the City of Tampa at the June 25, 2015, Tampa City Council meeting. Pending City approval, signatures will be provided following School Board approval.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
This program will generate Workforce Education funds. In addition, the district will receive approximately $23,300 in tuition for each class of 20 students. Funds received in excess of actual costs for this program will be remitted to the City of Tampa to offset costs associated with the operation and maintenance of the facility and equipment.
EVALUATION
The evaluation of the Academy program is based on enrollment, completion, and placement of students from this program in the local workforce. A cost and revenue report is calculated for each Academy class.  During the 2014/2015 school year, approximately 90 students have been served.
