SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Memorandum of Agreement Between Eckerd Youth Alternatives, Inc. and The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Eckerd Youth Alternatives, Inc. (Eckerd) is the lead child welfare agency in Hillsborough County.  Eckerd was awarded this contract by the Florida Department of Children and Families.  This memorandum of agreement is designed to identify common goals and cooperative efforts needed to serve students known to Eckerd and the district.  These activities include developing data sharing guidelines, implementing service linkage protocols, providing training sessions, participating in meetings for planning, and identifying practices which enhance student performance and safety.  Eckerd’s child welfare services are provided through their contract with the Florida Department of Children and Families.  The administrators for School Social Work Services will serve as the liaisons for the district in the cooperative effort with Eckerd.

This item has no financial impact.
EVALUATION
Administrators from Eckerd, Florida Department of Children and Families, and School Social Work Services will meet to evaluate the scope of services and to make additional plans.  Aggregate student performance data will be utilized to determine the success of students in school.
