SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve to Submit Grant Application to the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) and, if Approved, Accept Funds for the Florida Inclusion Network (FIN) for 2015/2016 (Student Services Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval to submit a grant application to the FLDOE for FIN. The major goals for 2015/2016 include: increase student achievement for students with disabilities by providing access to the general education curriculum within the least restrictive environment, and increase the academic outcomes for students with significant disabilities for postsecondary outcomes.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum • Promote a culture of safety, which is free from harassment, bullying, and aggression
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
If approved, funds in the amount of $155,525 will be included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget, FIN grant.
EVALUATION
Performance evaluation measures are determined by the FLDOE. The complete annual state performance report will be completed in December, 2015. The results of the evaluation will be shared with all stakeholders.
