Approve Memorandum of Agreement Between the Department of Health, Hillsborough County (DOH) and the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (HCPS) for Comprehensive Grant Dollars (Student Services Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
This Memorandum of Agreement is in effect July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016. This agreement provides HCPS with 13 registered nurses to work in our schools to provide basic school health services. The Supervisor of School Health Services will be responsible for the supervision and evaluation of nurses hired under this program. These registered nurses are paid by the DOH. This funding is used for salaries, fringe, travel and training for the registered nurses (school nurses). This agreement has been in effect for over 20 years.
It is the practice of the DOH to sign negotiated contracts after School Board approval. |

The total contribution of $596,501 is made available to the district from Federal Title XXI Dollars provided by the DOH. | |
EVALUATION | |
The annual report and plan are submitted to the DOH each August. Data is collected from monthly reports submitted by the school nurses. | |
