Approve Acceptance of Project for Renovation of Buildings 500 and 600 at Young Middle School

A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provided for replacement of the roof at Young Middle School.  Because Building 600 also required replacement of the roof top heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, District staff selected Cooper Johnson Smith Architects, Inc. and Allstate Construction, Inc. to provide design and construction management services for a project to accomplish the Building 600 work.  The scope of work provided for replacement of the roof and roof top equipment, and also included new ceilings and lights and fire code upgrades.
 
On April 29, 2014, the Board approved a Guaranteed Maximum Price for the project.  Subsequently, the Board approved a change order adding replacement of the roof, roof deck, ceilings and lights in Building 500 to the scope of the project.

The design professional has certified that the work is complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board Acceptance.

This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Local Millage.
