Recognition of the Students Honored by the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP) (Student Services Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The TIP identifies academically talented, seventh-grade students based on standardized test scores. These students were invited to complete either the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). These tests are the same college admissions exams administered to high school juniors and seniors. Seventh-grade students who score in the top 3 percent in the nation on the ACT or SAT receive National Grand Level Recognition and are invited to a ceremony at Duke University. This past year 55,505 seventh-grade students nationwide participated in TIP and 2230 earned recognition as National Grand Level Honorees.

In Hillsborough County Public Schools, there were 1150 seventh-grade students who participated in the TIP and 12 students (list attached) scored high enough on the SAT or ACT to receive National Grand Level recognition.
