The Department of Exceptional Student Education provides all students with disabilities the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to realize their potential through the provision of specially designed instruction and related services. The goal of the district is to provide equal access and opportunities for the identification, evaluation, and education of students with disabilities within general education classrooms with accommodations to meet the needs of students with disabilities as applicable to each individual student.

Hillsborough County Public Schools continues to provide exemplary education opportunities for all students and the Department of Exceptional Student Education is proud of the dedication and professionalism of all individuals who provide services and support to students with disabilities.

In recognition of “Disability History and Awareness Weeks,” our schools will be encouraged to provide instruction on disability history, people with disabilities, and the disability rights movement, especially during the first two weeks of October.
