| Approve Payments and Three-Month Agreement for Technical Services with the Tampa Bay Arts and Education Network (TBAE) to Provide Video Broadcast Services (Chief of Staff) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| On March 3, 2015, the Board approved a six-month agreement with TBAE for video broadcast services. Since 2008, TBAE has carried Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) video programs on the Education Channel with an annual purchase order to cover the a la carte fees. For five years, the fees charged by TBAE did not increase, while the average length of School Board meetings increased and services provided have expanded to include “indexing” of the archive, closed captioning, and compatibility with mobile devices.
It is recommended that TBAE continue to provide broadcasting services produced by HCPS, including School Board meetings, Math Homework Hotline, Spotlight on Seniors, Best Kept Secrets, and other programming for October 2015 through December 2015 at a cost of $81,000. Payments totaling $48,183 are due for the months of July, August, and September 2015. The artistic and technical services provided by TBAE are exempt from the bidding process, per Florida Department of Education Rule 6A1.012 (11)(a) Purchasing Policies. |
