| Approve the Interlocal Agreement Between the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (HCPS) and the Sheriff of Hillsborough County (SRO Office) Relating to School Resource Deputies in our Elementary Schools (Business Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| In the Fall of 2015 the SRO Office applied for and was awarded the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) grant.
The Interlocal Agreement details the requirements of the grant and require HCPS approval. Grant #2015ULWX0012 will cover three years of expenses and an additional twelve months following the grant period for five entry-level deputies so that five existing deputies will be assigned in our elementary schools The SRO Office will cover the costs of the salaries and benefits of the five SRO’s assigned to the elementary schools not covered by the monies awarded in the grant. |
