EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Florida Statutes 10011.42(18) and 1001.452 require school boards to annually review and approve the DIAP, SIPs, waivers, and the composition of SACs.

Each district with a D or F school is required to develop a DIAP.  All schools develop and approve their SIPs annually using the online Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) SIP template.  Through SIPs, schools implement a collaborative and ongoing process for improvement that aligns with the district goals and their student data.  The purpose of the SIP is to provide a current description of students' performance along with a system of goals, strategies, action steps, evaluation tools, evaluation processes, and professional development for increasing student achievement.  All SIPs have been developed through the FLDOE website, with public access through the website (www.floridacims.org).  The Office of School Improvement reviews all SIPs and works with schools to ensure compliance and high standards.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $386,480.00 will be available to support SIP implementation.  For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is Project #5005.  As of Friday, January 29, 2016, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line equaled $564,278.04.  Each school is provided funding of $2 per student.
EVALUATION
The DIAP and SIPs will be evaluated by August 30, 2016.
