Approval to Execute Quitclaim Deed in Favor of Tampa Housing Authority to Release Mineral Rights Regarding 1993 Land Conveyance

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In 1993, the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida conveyed to the Tampa Housing Authority all right, title, and interest in property at 3411 N. 34th Street, Tampa, FL (Exhibit A).  The Housing Authority is updating their title insurance commitments on the property and the title company has requested confirmation that the School Board's 1993 conveyance to the Housing Authority included the mineral rights.  At that time, conveyance deeds did not convey minerals rights, but in more recent years, title companies have been applying closer scrutiny to the subject.  The attached Quit Claim Deed does not relinquish or affect any right or holding of the School Board that was not already conveyed in 1993, but allows the Housing Authority to complete the title search process.

The Quit Claim Deed was prepared by school district real estate legal counsel.
