Approve Food Service Equipment Purchase for the Student Nutrition Services Operations Center at Silo Bend

On November 17, 2015, the Board approved the lease for a Student Nutrition Services (SNS) Operations Center at Silo Bend. Relocation to Silo Bend will enable SNS to consolidate administrative functions, production sites, training services, and equipment storage into one centralized location, and most importantly, will allow SNS to improve the quality of its service to students and staff.

Remodeling of the leased space is required to support SNS requirements. Staff selected Rowe Architects Incorporated and Williams Company Tampa from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design and construction management services for the remodeling. To facilitate completion of this project in time to support the 2016/17 school year, early acquisition of food service equipment is required.

The design professional developed specifications and requirements for a separate solicitation for the equipment. The requirements were advertised and bids received (see attached bid tabulation).  Award of the contract for equipment purchase to the lowest qualified bidder, SRE Culinary Equipment and Supplies, is recommended.
