Recognition of the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE) Florida West Coast Section (FWCS) Lignell 2016 Award Winners (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The FWCS of the IEEE annually recognizes outstanding mathematics and science teachers who have significantly impacted the lives of their students through highly engaging science, technology, engineering, and mathematics activities both in and out of the classroom. The Lignell Award is open to all educators teaching classes in mathematics or science in public high schools. IEEE is the world’s largest professional association advancing innovation and technological excellence.

Three recipients are selected from twelve counties that comprise the FWCS. This year's winners were invited to attend the Tampa Bay Engineers Week Banquet on Friday, February 26, 2016, at the T. Pepin's Hospitality Center where they were presented with the 2016 Lignell Award and an honorarium. This year, all three recipients were teachers from Hillsborough County Public Schools.
