| Approve Award of Contract for Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Cooling Tower Replacement at Blake High School | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
An urgent requirement exists for replacement of the cooling towers serving the HVAC cooling plant at Blake High School. District staff selected RHC and Associates, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services for a project to replace both cooling towers and related equipment. The project was advertised and bids received (see attached bid tabulation). Award of the contract for construction to the lowest qualified bidder, Bentzel Mechanical Inc., is recommended. |

Funds in the amount of $523,340.00 will be available in the Local Millage fund. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 8597. As of Thursday, March 24, 2016, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $479,952.90.
The contract amount recommended for award is $460,500. |
