Adoption of Proclamation - Hillsborough County Public Schools Telecommunications Week April 25 - 29, 2016 (Security and Emergency Management)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Hillsborough County Public Schools Security and Emergency Management Telecommunications Center recognizes and celebrates the week of April 25, 2016 as “Telecommunications Week.” Every year during the month of April, the National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, sponsored by the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials International, celebrates and honors the thousands of men and women who are often the first access point for those seeking all classes of emergency services.  By centralizing the functions of Transportation, Security and Emergency Management into a single communication hub, the HCPS Telecommunications Center seeks to provide these services to all of our students, staff and visitors.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Promote a culture of safety, which is free from harassment, bullying, and aggression • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health

There is no financial impact to the district for this proclamation.
