Approve Training Vendor Agreement with Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, Inc. d/b/a CareerSource Tampa Bay - 2016/2017 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This agreement continues the partnership with the local workforce board through the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), previously known as the Workforce Investment Act.  WIOA funds support eligible adult students enrolled in Postsecondary Adult Vocational programs by providing tuition, books, supplies, industry certification/licensure exams, and other related educational fees.  Programs for which WIOA funds may sponsor students must lead to occupations included on the current Demand Occupations List.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
CareerSource Tampa Bay provides student vouchers. The technical colleges invoice CareerSource Tampa Bay for the vouchers and receive payment from CareerSource Tampa Bay to cover student educational expenses.  During the 2014/2015 school year, $95,961 was invoiced and received.  Currently for the 2015/2016 school year, the technical colleges have invoiced and received $50,373.
EVALUATION
During the 2014/2015 school year, 110 sponsored students enrolled in workforce education programs at the school district's technical colleges; 118 sponsored students have enrolled during the 2015/2016 school year.  This training vendor contract is evaluated annually through required reports of student participation and progress.
