SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Demolition of Existing Building and Award of Contract for Parking Expansion at Steinbrenner High School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On April 15, 2015, the Board approved the acquisition of the D&D Academy Property located adjacent to Steinbrenner High School on Lutz Lake Fern Road to provide a site for additional safe and secure parking for the school. A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provides funding for the parking addition.

District staff selected Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services.  The scope of work provides for demolition of the existing building (deemed unnecessary for educational purposes) and construction of a new parking lot, including associated stormwater management facilities and site lighting. The project will provide 177 additional student parking spaces for the school.

The project was advertised and bids received (see attached bid tabulation). Award of contract for construction to the lowest qualified bidder, Alto Construction Co., Inc., is recommended. Approval for demolition of the existing building on the site is also requested.
