Approve the Piggyback of the Agreement Between Insight Public Sector, Inc. and U.S. Communities, County of Fairfax, Virginia, Request for Proposal (RFP) #2000001701 Technology Products, Services, Solutions, and Related Products and Services (Business Services)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
If approved, the Information and Technology Division will utilize this contract to purchase network equipment including core and edge network switches, switch modules, switch transceivers, stacking cables, and network rack mountable battery back-up devices (UPS). The initial term of this contract with Insight Public Sector, Inc. and U.S. Communities, County of Fairfax, Virginia is from May 1, 2016, through April 30, 2019, with four optional one-year renewals. Hillsborough County Public Schools will commence its use effective May 11, 2016.  The Superintendent is authorized to approve the renewal agreement, per the terms of the specifications.

In accordance with the Florida Department of Education, Purchasing Policy 6A-1.012(6), in lieu of requesting competitive solicitations from three or more sources, district school boards may make purchases at or below the specified prices from contracts awarded by other city or county governmental agencies, or other district school boards.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Year-to-date expenditures are $176,370 and $138,973 for 2014/2015.  Funds are available in the general fund reserve for inventory and will be transferred to the receiving site as needed.  As of Wednesday, April 20, 2016, the remaining balance for this line item equaled $4,000,000.
EVALUATION
Contract administration or evaluation is performed by the Project Manager (end user) and Procurement Officer, who function as a team. Reviews are performed annually or by utilizing an online vendor performance report. Prior to soliciting a new contract, the Contract Administration team must first give consideration to the specifications and supporting data of the expiring contract.
