Approve Memorandum of Agreement with the Hillsborough Education Foundation (HEF) to Expand Engineering Education in K-8 Schools (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) is the recipient of $50,000 from 100Kin10 to be used for HCPS to expand and enhance engineering education in K-8 schools. The focus of the grant project will be to further develop leadership capability for elementary and middle school mathematics and science. As a result of this project, HCPS will develop a plan to further implement engineering and design challenges and project-based learning in schools.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Motivate students to become responsible learners
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
HEF is the fiscal agent and will provide grant funding not to exceed $50,000 to HCPS.
EVALUATION
HCPS will provide a final report to HEF, who will then submit the report to the funding agency.
