Approve Memorandum of Agreement with the Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office, Inc. (DACCO) (Student Services Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
DACCO and HCPS enter into this agreement to provide a program of substance abuse prevention at select middle and high schools. The program known as the New Directions Substance Abuse Prevention Program will help identify youth who have exhibited high-risk behaviors that decrease the potential for academic success, suspension, or expulsion from a traditional school setting. The program is designed to allow DACCO prevention counselors to work collaboratively with the district’s School Counseling and Social Work Services Departments. Agency services will include group and individual counseling. This agreement will be in effect from July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2017. This service partnership with DACCO has been in existence for 26 years. | |

• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Motivate students to become responsible learners | |
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No) | |
DACCO provides their services at no cost to the district. | |
EVALUATION | |
Program services are evaluated at least twice a year. The joint management team will review outcome data quarterly and annually on all clients served. Input will also be solicited from the administrators of the participating schools. | |
