Approve the Reorganization of the Facilities Maintenance Support Department (FMS) and Job Description for Technical Coordinator, FMS
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Maintenance Department has determined that a position of Technical Coordinator is needed to be able to assist all the area maintenance staff and the educational support staff with a higher level knowledge of the overall operation of the district owned facilities. Duties will include policy and procedures, audits and federal and state mandates.  This position will also be a liaison between the Educational Staff and the Operations Division, keeping them informed of the status of building maintenance and all other related items.

• Recruit, develop, and retain a highly effective, diverse workforce • Provide for a district-wide succession planning structure and visible career ladder • Align financial resources to support the district's strategic goals • Demonstrate best financial practices • Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
The reorganization of the Maintenance Operations Department, Facilities Maintenance Support, will represent an annual savings to the District of $20,528.15 beginning November 30, 2016.
