Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Justice Works Youth Care, FL (Student Services Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Justice Works Youth Care and Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) enter into this agreement to provide effective diversion and intervention programs, as well as activities to prevent juvenile delinquency. The program targets the needs of delinquent youth by providing services in truancy prevention, behavior modification and support, family engagement, and transition support. The program is designed to allow Justice Works Youth Care behavior counselors to work collaboratively with HCPS alternative school staff to support student needs at the North Tampa and Brandon Alternative School sites. This agreement will be effective August 3, 2016, through June 30, 2017. | |

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes) | |
The State of Florida, Department of Juvenile Justice has committed to provide Hillsborough County Public Schools an appropriation of $400,000 to fund this agreement with Justice Works Youth Care, FL for the 2016/2017 school year. Expenditure for the execution of this contract will not exceed $400,000. For tracking purposes, these funds will be placed in project number 3106. | |
EVALUATION | |
Program services are evaluated at least twice a year. The joint management team will review outcome data monthly, quarterly and annually on all clients served. Input will also be solicited from participating schools’ administrators. | |
