Hillsborough County Public Schools Acknowledges the Read on myON (ROMO) Partnership and the Communities’ Contributions of Resources and Experiences to Encourage Students Reading and Learning Over the Summer (Outreach and School Improvement)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Read on myON Partnership promotes reading during the out-of-school time including summer and winter breaks from school for students living in Hillsborough County. This digital platform provides an enhanced accessibility to print, audio, and other integrated tools to foster active reading which engages students critically with the text in an interactive and motivating way.  Community partners are key to the success of this communitywide literacy project. Partners agree to access free resources, training, and motivational tools that reinforce literacy skills and build positive learning habits. Last summer, over 50,000 students accessed myON.

Local establishments recognize the importance of community engagement in literacy and are providing a myriad of resources and experience-based opportunities for children and families participating in Summer Reading Challenge throughout the summer.  In partnership with the Early Literacy Matters and Hillsborough Community College Foundation, our project has been able to secure donations. The attached document itemizes these donations.
