Provide an Update on Implementation of Future Plans for College and Career Readiness Planning  (Workforce Connections)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Department of Career and Technical Education (CTE) in collaboration with Guidance Services, implemented an online College and Career Readiness planning tool called "Future Plans" with 10th grade students in 2016/2017.  Future Plans is an interactive program which helps students discover their talents, interest and work values so they can choose the education pathway that best fits their potential career choices.

• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
This item has no financial impact to the district.
EVALUATION
In 2016/2017 Future Plans was used by 13,534 students at 31 high school and career centers.  The student's highest demanded career clusters were 1) Health Science, 2) Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security and 3) Manufacturing.  District staff is in process of reviewing the school-level results with administrators to drive instruction and programming for future school years.
