Approve Renewal of Agreement with Charter Communications Operating, LLC (Formerly Bright House Networks) to Televise Athletic Contests for the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 School Years (Educational Access, Opportunity, and Alternatives)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of the renewal of the original Television License Agreement, agenda item A 1.03, approved by The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (HCPS) on September 4, 2008, and agenda item A6.04 approved October 13, 2014.  Charter Communications Operating, LLC, (formerly Bright House Networks) will pay HCPS a total of $49,000 over the life of the contract in exchange for televising HCPS athletic contests.

The first payment from Charter Communications Operating, LLC, due on September 1, 2017, will be $24,000, followed by $25,000 on September 1, 2018.  In addition, Charter Communications Operating, LLC, will pay $500 per game to each home team school for each game televised on the Spectrum Sports cable channel.  This contract will end on June 30, 2019.

Charter Communications Operating, LLC, will pay HCPS a total of $49,000 over a two-year period.
EVALUATION
The effectiveness of this agreement will be evaluated by the Director of Athletics and staff.
