Approve Change Order No. Six for Dawson Elementary (Elementary C)
A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provided for a new elementary school in southern Hillsborough County to ensure the availability of satisfactory classrooms for the projected student enrollment in K-12 programs.  Capacity is needed by the 2017-18 school year to relieve overcrowding at Collins, Summerfield and Summerfield Crossings Elementary Schools.  On November 17, 2015, the Board approved the appointment of Holmes Hepner & Associates Architects, Inc. to provide design services for the school and on December 15, 2015, approved the appointment of HCBeck, Ltd dba The Beck Group to provide construction management services.
This change order adjusts the contract to reflect the actual value of the owner direct purchases on this project.  This is a necessary accounting function.
• Establish a strong foundation of financial stewardship • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health • Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
Funds in the amount of $20,559,900.00 will be available in the Impact Fees fund. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 8599. As of Wednesday, August 9, 2017, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $1,651,720.68.
