|The Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Vision Zero Action Plan|
|Vision Zero is an approach based on the belief that traffic deaths and injuries are preventable. These aren’t “accidents,” but instead the result of poor behaviors coupled with unforgiving roadway design. The resulting philosophy is to approach the problem from multiple angles, which include targeted education, data-driven enforcement, improved street designs, predictability, and limiting the potential for human error.
The Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (MPO) Policy Committee has taken the lead locally to develop a Vision Zero Action Plan centered on four Action Tracks:
The action plan can be reviewed at http://www.planhillsborough.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/VisionZero_ActionPlan_FinalDraft.pdf.
