Approve Contract for Medicaid Data Management Partnership with The School Board of Seminole County, Florida (SBSC) (Business Services Division)
|The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (HCPS) has joined with 36 other Florida school districts to claim Medicaid reimbursement for the fiscal year 2018/2019. HCPS will continue to partner with SBSC, the Department of Education, and the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration for an additional year. This agreement begins July 1, 2018.
SBSC provides the consortium of school districts oversight and guidance to insure compliance and maximum reimbursement for the Medicaid School District Administrative Claim program. This program allows school districts to be reimbursed for some of their costs associated with school-based health and outreach activities which are not claimable under the Medicaid Certified School Match (fee-for-service) program. Funding is determined by the amount of time school district staff spends performing Medicaid administrative activities. SBSC collects, reviews, and develops the data necessary for the districts to submit their reimbursement claims to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.
• Establish a strong foundation of financial stewardship
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
The Florida Department of Education has contracted with SBSC to provide this management service free of charge to all school districts in the state of Florida. The program is expected to generate $8,300,000 in fiscal year 2018/2019.
The Medicaid program is evaluated by amount received and lack of audit findings. SBSC provides additional oversight and assistance to ensure we obtain our optimal funding.
