Approve Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hillsborough Community College (HCC) for Career Pathways Initiatives (Workforce Connections)
We request approval of the MOU with HCC to receive a maximum of $30,000 and not less than $15,000 of Carl D. Perkins funding, which is designated for programs that educate high school students, teachers, and counselors on the technical programs offered by HCC.  The funds will be used for instructor stipends, student/staff transportation, and supplies.
• Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child
Hillsborough Community College will provide a maximum of $30,000 and not less than $15,000 from their Carl D. Perkins Grant to the district to support these activities for the school year 2018/2019.  If approved, these funds will be allocated to various objects in Project 3540 and expended by June 30, 2019.
Over the past year, 32 counselors attended College and Career Connections, 25 students attended Wings of Imagination, and over 400 high school students attended the HCC Career Quest.  This agreement will be evaluated by the Department of Career and Technical Education based on the number of students who participate in the career pathways programs.
