SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Between the Girls on the Run (GOTR) and the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (Chief of Schools)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This MOA establishes the respective roles and responsibilities regarding the implementation and operation of GOTR physical activity-based positive youth development programs. The GOTR program provides trained coaches to lead small teams through a research based curriculum which includes dynamic discussions, activities, and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in third through fifth grade develop critical life skills to help them navigate their worlds. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and completing a celebratory 5K event. GOTR is one of the only physical activity-based positive youth development programs with compelling evidence that participants learn life skills and then use them in other aspects of their lives. This collaboration will ensure the program and the students are supported.

• Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders • Establish a strong foundation of financial stewardship • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health

Schools, where fees are charged, will receive a reduced facility usage fee.
