SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services Between Franklin Covey Client Sales, Inc., and The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida for The Leader in Me Program at Tinker K-8 School Under the Project Supporting All Learners and Uniting to Excel (SALUTE) Grant (Chief of Schools)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Tinker K-8 School was awarded a five-year grant funded by the Department of Defense Education Activity.  The goal of the grant is to increase the level of social-emotional, well-being of military-dependent students in Tinker K-8 School.  Implementation of programs such as The Leader in Me character education program will provide the necessary support to the school.  The Leader in Me is a school transformation process that teachers 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.  This agreement will cover the third year of the project.

• Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child • Recruit, support, and retain a highly effective and diverse workforce • Develop a culture of respect, trust, and collaboration • Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $22,618 will be available in the Project SALUTE grant.  For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3118.  As of February 18, 2019, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $22,618.
EVALUATION
Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) will collect and provide assessment data to an outside evaluator for the grant.  The outside evaluator will provide a copy of the annual evaluation report to the HCPS Office of Strategic Data and Evaluation.
