SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Estimated Out-of-County/Out-of-State School Board Member Travel 2018/2019 (Business Services Division) (Revised Executive Summary and correction to attachment, page 1)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In accordance with School Board Policy 6550(B), any travel outside the district that exceeds $500 requires prior approval by the Board to confirm that such travel is for official business of the school district and complies with rules of the State Board of Education. This request is for pre-approval of attendance and participation at the 100Kin10 STEM Summit March 25-26 27, 2019. Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) will be meeting with San Diego Unified School District teams regarding their LEGO project.   Mrs. Stuart is currently the HCPS Board representative on the Tampa Bay STEM Network Advisory Board. HCPS is being recognized for teacher recruitment and early learning connections through STEM at the 100Kin10 STEM Summit.  Additionally, HCPS will be meeting with the LEGO National Education team to discuss the possible expansion of their program to HCPS.
