Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning System Replacement at D.W. Waters Career Center (Operations Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Operations Division has defined, as part of it's initial group of referendum projects, to provide for the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) replacement and energy efficiency improvements at D.W. Waters Career Center. District staff selected Horus Construction Services, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants List to provide construction management services. The scope of work includes removing and replacing the existing chillers and install two (2) new Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's) to the existing chill water pump motors, among other things.

Approval of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) will establish the cost for the project.

Project completion is scheduled for August 2019.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Establish a strong foundation of financial stewardship • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health • Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $1,145,033.00 will be available in the Local Millage fund (a referendum project). For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 8200. As of Monday, March 4, 2019, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $1,145,033.00.

The Guaranteed Maximum Price recommended for approval is $1,111,683.
