Recognition of Elementary, Middle, and Secondary Winners of the 2019 Hillsborough Regional Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) Fair and Participants of the 2019 State Science and Engineering Fair (SSEF) (Office of Teaching and Learning)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Hillsborough Regional STEM Fair provides an opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and innovation while solving problems and answering questions, all the while enjoying mathematics, science, and engineering.  At the regional, state, and international fairs, students competed for a variety of awards and prizes offered by academic, business, community, and government partners.   In February, over 2,100 students competed in the 2019 Hillsborough Regional STEM Fair held at the Tampa Convention Center, supported by the generous partners of the Tampa Bay STEM Network. Five Best of Fair awards at their grade levels were presented, as well as hundreds of other categorical and special awards for Grades K-12. In addition to these awards, 17 middle and secondary students qualified to compete at the SSEF competition in Lakeland, on March 26-28, 2019.  Three of these students will also represent Hillsborough County Public Schools and the Tampa Bay STEM Network at the International Science Engineering Fair in Phoenix, Arizona, from May 12-17, 2019, competing against over 2,000 students from every state and over 70 countries.
