A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provides for heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) renovation at B.T. Washington Elementary School. On September 19, 2017, the Board appointed RHC and Associates, Inc. and Wharton-Smith, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The project scope consists of the replacement of airside and controls, dedicated Open System Adapter (OSA) system, ventilation, controls, test and balance, commissioning, Air Handler (AH), Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes, ductwork, remove existing boiler and demolition to include assistance in the assessment of salvageable equipment and recovery of refrigerant.

Approve Acceptance for Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System Replacement at B.T. Washington Elementary School (Operations Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provides for heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) renovation at B.T. Washington Elementary School. On September 19, 2017, the Board appointed RHC and Associates, Inc. and Wharton-Smith, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The project scope consists of the replacement of airside and controls, dedicated Open System Adapter (OSA) system, ventilation, controls, test and balance, commissioning, Air Handler (AH), Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes, ductwork, remove existing boiler and demolition to include assistance in the assessment of salvageable equipment and recovery of refrigerant. The design professional has certified that the work is now fully complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board Acceptance.

Funds in the amount of $2,399,004.25 will be available in the CIT Bond. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 8200. As of Monday, April 8, 2019, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $47,217.69.
