EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The purpose of Title II, Part A is to provide funds to local education agencies to (1) increase student achievement consistent with challenging state academic standards; (2) improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and other school leaders; (3) increase the number of teachers, principals, and other school leaders who are effective in improving student academic achievement in schools; and (4) provide low-income and minority students greater access to effective teachers, principals, and other school leaders.  According to grant parameters, private schools are entitled to an equitable share of Title II funds in order to achieve these goals.

FACTS Education Solutions will provide a two-day institute for private school teachers and leaders who work at Diocesan Schools within Hillsborough County.  The training topics are: Project/Problem Based Learning (PBL provides an educational environment that creates meaningful contexts to apply both academic and success skills that embrace the application of caring about, and for, the greater good); Accommodations for Special Learners (learn how to assist diverse learners and set up support programs, and what can be done to preserve the self-esteem of kids that learn differently); Writing Across the Curriculum (learn not only how to motivate students to want to write across the curriculums, but to also gain a better understanding of why it is such a powerful strategy); Using Technology to Differentiate (help teachers gain new, innovative ways to incorporate mobile devices into instruction); and Next Generation Science Standards (learn how to unpack these standards and implement in K-12 classrooms with collaborative activities that enable students to experiment and excel as scientists).
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child
