EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request the approval of the agreement with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office as a training site for incarcerated individuals. The purpose of this agreement is to reduce the recidivism rate of incarcerated individuals.  We will assess inmate student needs and interests as well as local workforce needs to provide targeted skills training for the incarcerated population of Hillsborough County jail.

Programs will follow existing curriculum guidelines with Hillsborough County Public Schools.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
Classroom instructor and lab space is provided by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at no cost to the district.
EVALUATION
The training site will be evaluated by inmate students, instructors, Hillsborough County Public School District personnel and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at the end of each school year. The inmate students will be evaluated through program completion, rearrests (recidivism) rates and employment data. The targeted rate of 60% of the inmate students completing the program will not be arrested for a felony or violent misdemeanor within one year of release.
