EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
For the last several years, Tony and Lauren Dungy and the Dungy Family Foundation have provided the “Dungy Tuesday Literacy Program” to our schools.  This program focuses on our second grade students at Title I schools.  Beginning in September, Tony and Lauren Dungy visit two schools a week and read to every second grader in the school.  Each child as well as the teacher and media center receives one of their award winning books.

This year Tony and Lauren Dungy visited a total of 50 Title I schools and read to over 4,500 second grade students.  The Dungy Family Foundation has provided books at no charge as well as participated in the Student Day at the Fair where they gave out approximately 175 autographed books to community children.  The total value of this donation from the Dungy Family Foundation was $83,000.
