EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Harvard Strategic Data Project is an initiative of the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University committed to using data to help all students succeed. Through partnerships with school districts, they train data strategists to drive data-informed change and lead with evidence. Our partnership with the Harvard Strategic Data Project will consist of a two-year fellowship program, with Julie McLeod as the Project Fellow and Joe Cochran as the Hillsborough County Public Schools Project Director, which will provide training, mentoring, direction and support for our efforts to transform the use of data and build a data-driven, performance culture. This two-year fellowship program will begin in the fall of 2019 and culminate in the completion of a capstone project in the summer of 2021. This fellowship is funded through Title II, Part A. The purpose of Title II, Part A is to provide funds to local education agencies (1) increase student achievement consistent with challenging state academic standards; (2) improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and other school leaders; (3) increase the number of teachers, principals, and other school leaders who are effective in improving student academic achievement in schools; and (4) provide low-income and minority students greater access to effective teachers, principals, and other school leaders. The President and Fellows of Harvard College requires the Board's signature to acknowledge acceptance of this contract prior to Harvard College's final signature. |
