SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Florida Jobs Growth Grant Application to be Submitted Between June 12, 2019, and July 30, 2019, by the Workforce Connections Division and Accept all Grant Funds Generated Through Awarded Grant Applications During that Time Period (Workforce Connections)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Florida Department of Education Opportunity invites school districts to submit proposals in a consolidated format for this grant opportunity.  Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) Workforce Connections Division is requesting approval to submit for and receive $496,193 from the Florida Jobs Growth Grant Fund. These funds will be used to provide software coding training at Brewster Technical College at no cost to adults within our community. 
 
The Florida Job Growth Grant Fund is an economic development program designed to build on Florida’s success and economic prosperity. Workforce training projects will provide Floridians with transferable, sustainable workforce skills applicable to many employers.

• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
If awarded, it is estimated that grant funds received by HCPS through the efforts of the Career, Technical, and Adult Education Department will be approximately $496,193.  These funds will be available in the district’s divisional special revenue programs budget.
EVALUATION
Project Directors are responsible for reporting progress in meeting performance targets to funding agencies.
