Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Train Up First, Inc. (Leadership, Professional Development, and School Transformation)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Train Up First, Inc. will provide life skills training for middle school students in our Achievement Schools, through week-long summer camps taking place on each school campus during the month of July.  Camp instructors will work with students to make them aware of their own feelings and provide them with strategies on how to cultivate healthy relationships, make good decisions, avoid harmful social situations, as well as collaborate and practice team building skills to prepare them to be successful citizens.  The camps will be open to all students in each of the eight middle schools.

• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $174,097.41 will be available in the Title IV budget. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3544. As of June 3, 2019, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $178,837.41. 
EVALUATION
The data will show that this program will have a positive impact on student behavior by reducing the number of incidents during the school year of those that attend the camp program. A recent school implementing the Train Up First Program reported a 6% increase in positive attitude and an 8% increase in self-control of students who participated in the program.
