Approve the Application for NorthStar Academy of Hillsborough County West (Charter Office)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On February 1, 2019, the district received six applications for prospective charter schools.  Applicants were given the opportunity to present their application to the Charter School Application Review Team. The Team, made up of staff from a variety of district departments, reviewed the applications and provided feedback collectively. Feedback was compiled and used to interview the applicant for further understanding of the application.   The recommendation is to approve NorthStar Academy of Hillsborough County West. The application meets all of the statutory requirements in F.S. 1002.33(6). A summary of NorthStar Academy of Hillsborough County West is attached.

The estimated cost of the review of the six charter school applications is $47,600. The review of charter school applications is not covered by the two to five percent administrative fee collected to support the district charter schools.
EVALUATION
Staff will annually review the application process to ensure that all statutory requirements are met.
