Educate Hillsborough (Deputy Superintendent, Operations)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Educate Hillsborough aims to provide a cohort of diverse, local leaders with development and collaborative opportunities hands-on experiences in our district. Beginning in September 2019, the inaugural class of Educate Hillsborough will meet for monthly sessions at sites across our county. District leaders will provide participants with a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges within Hillsborough County Public Schools. The six half-day sessions cover virtually every facet of our district: Teaching and Learning, Innovation, Community Partnerships, Operations, Leadership, and Graduation. This dynamic and interactive program allows the cohort an opportunity to truly experience what it takes to prepare our county’s 220,000 students for life.
  • Educate Hillsborough's mission is to educate, connect, and inspire the next generation of Tampa Bay’s leaders through the infinite experiences in Hillsborough County Public Schools.
  • Educate Hillsborough encourages growth, development, and relationship building for community-oriented individuals through conversation and hands-on experiences in Hillsborough County Public Schools. The program seeks to challenge cohorts of business and community leaders, who may not otherwise meet, to improve understanding of the eighth largest school district in the nation.
  • Modeled after successful programs like Leadership Tampa, Leadership Orange, and Leadership Hillsborough, Educate Hillsborough will create a diverse network of district champions throughout our community.

• Recruit, support, and retain a highly effective and diverse workforce • Develop a culture of respect, trust, collaboration and equity • Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health
