Approve the Agreement for Technical Services Between Lavonna, Inc. d/b/a Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E., and The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida for Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E. Professional Development at Mango Elementary School (Chief of Schools)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Ignite your S.H.I.N.E. is a professional development experience that ignites leaders and teachers so they can help students believe in their gifts, gain confidence, and explore how they will contribute to the world.  Staff at Mango Elementary will participate in a one-day session where they will learn strategies for creating an environment where the brain thrives and learning soars.  Brain research will serve as the foundation of the new learning with staff.  Following the session, web-based lessons will be available for teachers to use in their classrooms.

• Improve the high school graduation rate • Improve Student Achievement • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child • Develop, recognize, and reward employees • Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders • Continuously improve processes and systems • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health • Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $19,800 will be available in the Title I account. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3746. As of July 1, 2019, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $19,800.
EVALUATION
Schools across the country that have participated in Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E. professional development, have seen improvements in teacher and student attendance, schoolwide discipline, and school climate survey results.  The professional development has resulted in school staffs creating safe and healthy cultures for learning.  At Mango Elementary, success will be measured by the implementation of learned strategies throughout the school resulting in improved student attendance, behavior, and perceptions on the student climate survey.
